The London Borough of Harrow's Adult Social Care division is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) Senior Practitioner to join our dynamic Reablement Team. In this pivotal role, you will provide expert clinical supervision, support, and guidance to Occupational Therapists, OT Assistants, and Trusted Assessors within the reablement pathway. Your focus will be on delivering short-term, goal-oriented interventions that empower residents to regain their skills and independence following a period of illness or hospital discharge.
Working in close partnership with managers, the Reablement Provider, and the wider Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), you will be instrumental in ensuring high-quality, outcome-focused reablement practice across the service. You will lead on functional assessments, goal-setting, and robust reviews, providing guidance and practical demonstration to support individuals in achieving their independence. Additionally, you will manage complex cases—particularly those involving intricate moving and handling—and provide specialist advice to the Harrow Adaptations and Repair Team (HART).
As a leader, you will chair professional meetings and support the Team Manager by acting as Duty Manager or deputising in their absence. We are looking for a practitioner who excels in a fast-paced environment and ensures that statutory assessments are completed promptly. If you are passionate about a strengths-based approach that prevents or delays the need for long-term care, we invite you to apply.
Please note that while we are currently accepting applications, the successful candidate will be scheduled to start this role in April 2026
