Distribution Planner/Operator
We are looking to recruit an experienced and proficient Local Distribution Planner to work within our busy Mercia Park Operation. You will be planning the routing 30-40 multi drop vehicles.

We are looking to recruit a Distribution Planner & Operator in Mercia park. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company committed to providing quality, innovative value, and logistics services. The person we are looking for must be self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on delivering high quality and performance.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the route allocation of 30-40 multi drop vehicles, working closely with our 3rd party transport provider/s to plan and allocate deliveries and collections, including a number of regular on the day collections.,
You will meet customers' requirements for the safe and efficient transportation of cargo in accordance with company operational procedures and statutory requirements including Health & Safety, DGSA Regulations to the satisfaction of clients and the profitability of the company. This is to be achieved in line with our “get it right first time” approach.
Key accountability areas
1. An excellent understanding of Domestic HGV driving legislation and load capacities.
2. Communicating efficiently and effectively with internal and external Customers, Drivers, Suppliers, and other DSV Hubs.
3. Any reports/KPI's required.
4. Producing a Month end financial and service result.
5. Work with warehouse and other internal colleagues to provide the best service possible.
6. Liaise with and maintain an excellent working relationship with inhouse 3rd party transport provider.
7. Follow and enforce all company policies and procedures.
Skills and Competencies
8. Previous experience as a planner with multi drop experience
9. Excellent Geographical knowledge.
10. Excellent Knowledge of Weights and capacities of HGV’s
11. Excellent Communicator
12. Excellent Customer Service
13. Knowledge of Driver’s Hours and Transport Regulations
14. Ability to multi-task under pressure
15. Good problem solver
16. Experience of working with department KPI’s i.e. CPVD (Cons per vehicle day)
