About the role
We're looking for an experienced and proactive Field Service Engineer to join our Operations team in Dundee. In this hands‑on and varied role, you’ll support the installation, inspection, maintenance and repair of Ace Aquatec’s products, both in the UK and internationally. You’ll split your time between our Dundee workshop and customer sites worldwide, ensuring our equipment operates safely and efficiently in challenging marine environments. You’ll be a key representative of Ace Aquatec on site, working closely with customers, suppliers and internal teams to deliver a first‑class service experience.
What you'll be doing
* Install, service and maintain Ace Aquatec equipment, including acoustic deterrents, electric stunners, biomass cameras and sea lice removal systems.
* Diagnose faults methodically and carry out repairs to minimise equipment downtime.
* Provide technical support to customers, both remotely and on site.
* Collaborate with our Technical Support, Sales and Marketing teams to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
* Support the development and testing of new products and system upgrades.
* Mentor and assist junior technicians and engineers within the team.
* Ensure all work complies with health, safety and environmental standards.
* Represent Ace Aquatec professionally at customer sites, maintaining our strong reputation for service and innovation.
What we're looking for
* Recognised qualification in Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering (HNC or equivalent).
* Proven experience in industrial electrical or electronic engineering – ideally in both field and workshop environments.
* Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills with a methodical approach to problem‑solving.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, often in remote or offshore environments.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – comfortable dealing directly with customers.
* High attention to detail and quality in assembling and maintaining equipment designed for demanding conditions.
* Competent with MS Office and general IT tools.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Experience within the aquaculture, agriculture, marine or offshore industries.
* Familiarity with mechanical systems and small hand tools.
* Experience mentoring or training others.
* Valid passport and willingness to travel frequently, including periods away from home.
