Pensions Consultant
Isio is recruiting for a Pensions Consultant to join our Pensions Operational Solutions Team as a Manager, where we lead the delivery of projects for some of the largest and most complex pension schemes in the UK.
Working with our Actuarial & Consulting team — over 400 pensions consultants and actuaries advising a diverse range of clients across the private, public and not‑for‑profit sectors — we support schemes to deliver their strategic goals by undertaking reviews of pension scheme data, benefit calculations, processes and controls. We focus on delivering solutions and positive outcomes to our clients and their members.
What the role entails
* Lead the day to day delivery of projects for DB and DC pension schemes.
* Work directly with pension providers, insurers, and public services schemes.
* Design and deliver reviews of administration operations, service improvement plans and data management plans.
* Involve in GMP reconciliation and data cleansing work prior to GMP equalisation, or other data and benefit audit projects.
* Lead the day to day management of the project team and act as the first point of contact for clients.
* Review the work of junior team members and provide guidance.
* Train and mentor junior members.
* Develop relationships with current clients and potential targets to secure further work.
Key technical and professional skills
* In-depth understanding of DB and DC pension schemes, including administration and regulatory requirements.
* Experience as a consultant or senior pensions administrator in a client‑facing environment.
* Ability to review and interpret complex data and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
* Expertise in technical aspects of pensions administration: calculations, benefit audits, service improvement plans.
* Knowledge of UK pension regulations and compliance requirements.
* Ability to lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
Communication, commercial and organisational abilities
* Excellent communicator, able to explain complex problems simply.
* Enthusiastic, motivated, passionate about solving problems and providing great service.
* Strong organisational skills.
* Team worker who leads, mentors, and manages operations.

Location
The role can be based at any of Isio's offices in Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Croydon, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester, and Reading. We work on a hybrid basis, expecting 2‑3 days in office and travel to client sites occasionally.
