Finance Business Partner, Arts Education Charity, London, c.£48,000 + benefits

Are you a confident and proactive finance professional with a passion for the arts or education? We’re supporting a unique non-profit organisation—working at the intersection of performing arts training and higher education—to find a Finance Business Partner to join their busy and supportive finance team in North London.

This is an exciting time to join a growing and ambitious organisation that’s making a meaningful impact through creative education. The role combines day-to-day financial responsibilities with business partnering and strategic insight across a broad and passionate team.

About the Role

Reporting to the Finance Director, you’ll work closely with key internal stakeholders including department heads, HR and Registry teams, and the Executive Director. You’ll play a pivotal role in financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting, while ensuring compliance and smooth-running processes. You’ll also support project work, donor reporting, and play a key role in payroll and statutory reporting.

Key Responsibilities

* Build collaborative relationships across the organisation to support financial decision-making and promote value for money.
* Prepare monthly management accounts, forecasts, and budget-holder reports.
* Lead on cashflow forecasting and oversee financial month-end processes.
* Support the annual budgeting cycle and donor fund reporting.
* Oversee payroll, pensions, and HMRC reporting (including year-end).
* Contribute to VAT returns, statutory accounts, and audit preparation.
* Take ownership of financial system improvements and internal controls.
* Work with Registry and Development teams on income records and fund tracking.
* Attend and minute Finance Committee meetings.

What We’re Looking For

* ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or finalist.
* Solid experience in management accounts, reconciliations, and ledger management.
* Understanding of charity accounting and SORP (experience desirable).
* Confident with VAT (ideally partial exemption) and payroll processes.
* Excellent communicator with the ability to simplify financial info for non-finance teams.
* Strong Excel skills and good systems knowledge.
* A team player with a proactive approach and genuine interest in the arts or education.

We are reviewing CVs on a rolling basis—please apply early to avoid missing out. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to making the recruitment process as inclusive and accessible as possible. Let us know if you need any adjustments at any stage.
