An opportunity exists for a dynamic individual to support the BAE Systems TyTAN contract within the Off-Aircraft Weapons Maintenance Bays based at RAF Coningsby. The role is for a qualified Aircraft Weapons Technician to be employed within the Typhoon Weapons Workshop. The post holder will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and test of Weapons Role Equipment ensuring that all activities are undertaken in accordance with the requirements of the Approved Data, Regulatory Approval and the issued Statement of Work/Condition of Supply in order to assure the output of airworthy and compliant aircraft components.
The candidate will be capable of operating within a team, demonstrate a flexible and proactive attitude to undertaking responsibilities applicable to the role, and be able to take direction appropriately. The individual will have a positive attitude with regard to Continuous Improvement (CI) and will be expected to contribute towards capability development and enhancement to grow the workshop and increase work capacity.
The successful applicant will be required to be able to work within a governed and regulated MAOS MRP Pt145 approved organisation.
Appropriate training will be carried out on equipment specialisations.
Typical duties include
* Completion of activities – Ensure all Part 145 activities are appropriately documented and airworthiness records are maintained on relevant systems (IT & paper based). Compile required reporting, identify any issues and escalate as appropriate. Maintain personal task competencies for the maintenance of components to ensure competency resilience in the workshop.
* Performance indicators – Ensure the effective provision of Part 145 activities by meeting delivery targets and reporting any impact on Continuing Airworthiness. Understand how individual actions contribute to overall delivery performance.
* Procedure/standards – Comply with the Part 145 MOE, its associated procedures and standards and any other Company Procedures and Standards, as applicable. Be prepared to question, identify and propose changes, as required.
* Safety Management System – Ensure Human Factors and Error Management philosophies are applied to all Part 145 activities. Understand the risks associated with Part 145 and the means by which they are mitigated and managed. Be an active SHE practitioner, apply and promote safety principles to all maintenance activities.
* Statutory / Regulatory & Legislative requirements – Able to demonstrate an appropriate level of understanding and application of the relevant Continuing Airworthiness Regulatory framework. Support the implementation of any Regulatory-driven changes into the Part 145 maintenance activities. Ensure compliance with all other requirements, e.g. ITAR, EaPW, ISO, etc.
* The post holder will be an experienced and skilled technician undertaking a range of detailed maintenance activities on Aircraft Role Equipment.
* At this level, the post holder requires a good understanding of the construct of the approved Technical Information set and is competent to work unaided to maintenance instructions and in accordance with the organisation’s MOE.
* Demonstrates the ability to analyse and diagnose faults to equipment & assemblies, follow diagnostic procedures and work effectively within a team provide guidance to less experienced team members in a diverse and dynamic operational environment.
Knowledge:
* A thorough knowledge of maintenance of activities conducted within the regulatory framework is required. In addition, the candidate would benefit from a having a functional knowledge of the maintenance work recording systems utilised by the organisation and the customer, in this case Integrated Maintenance Solution (IMS), ESS and Certificates of Component release.
* Experienced and competent Aircraft Armament Technician. Requires broad and in-depth product knowledge, expert competence within own technical/subject area and an understanding of the relationship with interfacing and external dependencies appropriate to the role.
Skills:
Essential Skills/Requirements;
* A minimum of 2 years experience employed as a technician in a MRP Part 145 Component Maintenance Organisation (CMO) within the last 5 years.
* Excellent inter-personnel qualities including high quality verbal and written communication skills.
* An attitude which understands the details and challenges conventional thinking.
* Current Security Clearance.
* Functional competence and familiarity with the MS Office suite of programmes and related IT Systems.
* Working knowledge of MRP Part 145 procedures and processes including Part M requirements.
Highly Desirable Skills:
* Current or Previous experience of maintenance procedures for Typhoon Components.
* Experienced practitioner in the use of Maintenix - (Maintenance Recording Toolset).
* Previous Typhoon Role Equipment Experience
