A leading manufacturer in the Coventry area has an impressive new opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to join a team of 4. This is a newly created role in the business to support them with the introduction of new products within the business. You will be working on some interesting projects and have the opportunity to work in many different departments, particularly within Manufacturing and Design. They are offering an attractive salary package of circa £40k to £45k, working a 39-hour contracted week and finishing earlier on Fridays. Responsibilities: The Manufacturing Engineer will project manage the design of new Machinery, systems, equipment and processes for the introduction of new products or the improvement of existing ones, ensuring all documentation is relevant and up to date. Target inefficiencies quickly using problem-solving techniques such as 5 Whys, A3, and Root Cause Analysis. Support, cost estimate, and document all engineering changes. Ensure non-conformances within production are identified, eliminated, and controls are in place to prevent reoccurrences. Ensure all manufacturing processes are supported by the necessary training, documentation, and Quality Controls. Understand the requirements of modern machinery, ensuring compliance with current legislation and best practice. Demonstrate an understanding of current environmental legislation and future trends. Clearly and efficiently communicate vital engineering updates and changes to all levels within the business. Carry out targeted improvement events through the use of data and Root Cause analysis. Review results gained from improvements to ensure objectives have been achieved. Prepare reports and documentation and communicate to team members, senior management team, Work closely with the production support teams, maintaining an advocacy of all policies and procedures underpinning the way we do business. Leading by example, you will be one of the supporting functions of all topics associated within the production support teams. Support and Lead projects, driving out waste, reducing downtime and improving OTIFEF delivery to customers. Work closely with the Engineering Development Manager, identifying and creating an ongoing road map for engineering to deliver on the company's business goals.Requirements of the Manufacturing Engineer: Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a time served Manufacturing Engineer who has served an apprenticeship and worked within the Mechatronics field would equally be as desirable. CNC Programming is highly desirable Some experience of plastic processes would also be beneficial. All manufacturing industries considered.
