Overview
We are currently seeking a Community Sister to join the Spennymoor, Ferryhill and Sedgefield Community Nursing Team. The successful applicant will work across the Sedgefield locality and the surrounding areas from an office base in Spennymoor. The team cover 8am until 9pm 7 days a week on a duty roster. The post holder will be a caseload holder to ensure the provision of clinical management to District Nursing and Intermediate Care Services. The role involves providing holistic nursing care to adult patients in their own home or residential care setting. Successful applicants will be required to hold a first level nursing registration with the NMC, additional training specific to the role can be provided.
Main duties
To support coordination and delivery of high quality nursing care that, where possible, meets identified patient need, supports the aims and objectives of the integrated health and social care team, and remains within the boundaries of available resource. Predominantly complex clinical care and caseload management with some coordination and supervisory responsibilities for health care staff between Bands 2 to Band 5. The Community Nursing Team provide both planned and reactive care including Urgent Community Response.

Qualifications
Essential
* 1st Level Registration with the NMC (Adult) Professional knowledge of community nursing acquired through degree or equivalent level of demonstrable professional knowledge/experience
* Supplemented by diploma level specialist training, experience, short courses which indicate a clear passion for nursing in the community
Desirable
* Physical skills course or equivalent
* Non-Medical Prescribing
* Management and leadership course
* Knowledge of issues in community nursing
* Knowledge of Urgent Community response
Experience
Essential
* Experience working as a Nurse in a community setting/team
Desirable
* Experience of managing a team and staff
* Experience of audit/research
* Experience of clinical supervision
* Evidence of recent on-going nursing development
