Job Summary
The Care Navigator plays a crucial role in supporting patients and their families as they navigate the healthcare system. This position involves coordinating care, providing information, and ensuring that patients receive the appropriate services in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will possess organisational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a compassionate approach to patient care.
Hours
Mondays
Tuesdays - Fridays
Occasional Saturday shifts on a rota
Duties
* Assist patients in understanding their healthcare options and available resources
* Prompt, calm and effective answering of telephones, diverting calls where needed
* Gain an in depth knowledge of our computer system
* Book appointments with healthcare providers to Practice protocols
* Maintain accurate patient records through data entry and clerical tasks.
* Respond to patient enquiries with professionalism and effective phone etiquette.
* Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care.
* Collecting, receipting and accurate recording of fees payabe
* Undertake other tasks including repeat prescription processing, chaperoning, communicating information to patients as requested by the GPs
* Handling and processing of samples
* Accepting deliveries and distributing as appropriate including maintaining cold chain when necessary
* Ability to stay calm in stressful situations
* Cover for colleagues annual leave and sickness including working additional hours
* Confidentiality of business and patient data is essential
Qualifications
* Previous office experience with a background in administrative roles preferred.
* Proficient computer skills although training will be given on SystmOne software
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word & Excel)
* Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
* Excellent phone etiquette for effective communication with patients and healthcare professionals.
* Experience in data entry and clerical duties is advantageous. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping others navigate their healthcare journey while utilising their administrative expertise in a supportive environment.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.21-£12.70 per hour
Expected hours: 28.75 per week
