Job Description:
Riverview Federation is established as a leader in inclusive practice with successful provisions such as Discover Groups, The Attendance Hub, and Headway across Baysgarth School and Castledyke Primary School. These provisions recognize the diverse needs of children.
We believe every child should access appropriate support, and we are developing new provisions to ensure all young people are supported to succeed.
Our flagship, Headway, is an outstanding alternative provision based at Baysgarth School. It aims to ensure every learner can thrive, feel valued, and succeed, regardless of challenges faced.
We understand each young person is unique, with individual talents and needs. Our vision is to provide a nurturing, therapeutic, and flexible educational environment that supports vulnerable students and their families. We offer personalized programs for students who find mainstream school challenging, combining academic and therapeutic approaches.
Our success stems from our dedicated staff, skilled in supporting children with additional needs. We value hiring individuals who share our commitment to high-quality support, flexibility, innovation, and ambition.
This role offers opportunities for career progression, including teacher training or leadership roles, and requires resilience and drive to seize these opportunities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
1. Collaborating with the Director of Headway to implement high-quality support programs for students.
2. Supporting students academically through targeted interventions.
3. Planning and delivering intervention and support programs, including social and emotional support.
4. Creating personalized work placements and programs.
5. Working with the careers lead to secure Post-16 destinations.
6. Assessing, recording, and reporting on student progress and achievement.
The essential qualifications and experience include:
* GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) Grade C or above.
* Experience working with students with additional needs in a secondary school setting.
* Knowledge of KS2 and Post-16 education.
* Understanding of how additional needs impact learning.
* Knowledge of SEND needs such as ADHD and Autism, and how to support them.
* Proficiency in using ICT to support learning.
* Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learning needs.
Riverview is committed to safeguarding children and young people. The successful applicant will undergo an enhanced DBS disclosure.
If you are motivated by this opportunity, we welcome your application. For inquiries or to arrange a visit, contact Assistant Headteacher David Roberts.
We promote safeguarding and expect all staff to share this commitment. Recruitment will follow our safer recruitment procedures, including reference checks and a DBS check.
