Dietetic Service Lead for Acute Nutrition Support. This Fixed Term/Secondment post is 18.75 hours per week until 30.10.2026 (12-month period) to cover maternity leave. For Hywel Dda University Health Board employees applying as a secondment, agreement from your current manager is required prior to application. The option of a full-time (37.5 hours per week) post can be considered for the right candidate from 05.01.2026 to 31.07.2026.

Responsibilities
* Provide leadership as Service Lead for Acute Nutrition Support HB wide, managing a team of Clinical Lead Dietitians working in Acute Nutrition Support.
* Lead recruitment, development plans, and workforce opportunities; promote workforce wellbeing and professional development.
* Collaborate with acute Dietetic leads, CNS nutrition nurses, professional practice nurses, the Malnutrition strategic lead, Consultants, senior Nurses, pharmacy colleagues, and procurement to embed Malnutrition as a key priority across acute pathways.
* Develop, implement, and evaluate the development of Nutrition Support teams HB wide to optimise patient care and safety in line with NICE Clinical Guideline 32 (2007).
* Set direction for Acute Nutrition Support and pro-actively support clinical leads with performance reporting.
* Highlight and promote the work of acute Dietetics; drive innovation, transformation, and quality improvement.
* Work with the clinical lead for Acute Nutrition Support (critical care) and HB-wide acute clinical leads; share a caseload of complex patients on an 18-bed critical care unit.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Experienced Dietetic lead in Acute Nutrition Support or a Clinical lead ready for career progression.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills; ability to work collaboratively with multi-professional teams.
* Knowledge and experience in leading service development, performance reporting, and workforce planning.
* Extensive knowledge of acute nutrition support and prioritising patient safety in practice; ability to lead and support workforce development and clinical governance.
* Desirable: ability to speak Welsh; English and/or Welsh speakers are welcome to apply. The Health Board offers Welsh language learning options and staff support to meet language requirements during employment.
Location and terms
The post is based within Hywel Dda University Health Board; you will work with the clinical lead for Acute Nutrition Support (critical care) at Glangwili Hospital and other acute nutrition leads HB-wide.
Term details
Fixed Term/Secondment: 18.75 hours per week until 30.10.2026.
Full-time option: 37.5 hours per week, 05.01.2026 – 31.07.2026, for the right candidate.
