It includes educational teaching, learning, and assessment equivalent to those on national specialty programmes. Each doctor will have an educational supervisor aligned with the specialty GMC curriculum.
The post provides a wide variety of experience in both elective and emergency Orthopaedics. The post holder will be responsible to the appropriate Consultants for admitting cases, conducting ward investigations, and managing pre- and post-operative care. They will also arrange theatre lists and participate in operative surgery, with involvement based on their experience and ability. Attendance at Orthopaedic Outpatient Clinics is required.
Responsibilities include attending rolling half days, participating in audits and case presentations, and maintaining surgical log books as per RCS England requirements. Research opportunities may be available for interested post holders.
