Behaviour Mentor Havering Immediate Start This specialist Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in the London Borough of Havering is seeking a confident and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join their team on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis. The provision supports students who have experienced barriers to mainstream education, helping them re-engage with learning through structure, consistency, and positive relationships. Behaviour Mentor What the School Offers Full-time, temp-to-perm opportunity Competitive daily rate paid weekly Small class sizes and high staff-to-student ratios Supportive leadership team and experienced pastoral staff Ongoing training in behaviour management and SEMH support Behaviour Mentor The Role Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEMH and behavioural needs Build positive relationships that promote engagement, attendance, and progress Support students in managing behaviour and emotional regulation Deliver intervention sessions and mentoring support throughout the school day Confidently cover lessons when required, ensuring a calm and productive learning environment Work closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and external agencies to support student outcomes Behaviour Mentor What the School is Looking For The ideal Behaviour Mentor will have experience working with young people who present with challenging behaviour, SEMH needs, or additional barriers to learning. Previous experience within a PRU, Alternative Provision, SEMH school, youth work, coaching, or support work setting would be highly advantageous. The school is seeking a proactive, adaptable, and authoritative individual who can build trust with students while maintaining clear boundaries and high expectations.
