Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join the positive action team on a 12 month fixed term contract, due to maternity leave. Are you enthusiastic about shaping the workforce to better reflect the local community, and assisting individuals in joining Gwent Police? You’ll join a team of three within Positive Action, working as part of the larger recruitment team.

The Positive Action Officer supports identifying, increasing, and promoting the recruitment, retention, and progression of people from under-represented or minority communities at Gwent Police. This role focuses on engaging with the community, supporting candidates throughout the recruitment journey, and collaborating closely with the recruitment team.

You should be passionate about working with diverse groups and skilled at delivering presentations and awareness sessions. It’s desirable to have knowledge of the recruitment process and the ability to coach and mentor individuals to reach their full potential.

Please note: The position requires travel throughout the force area to various stations and community locations, as well as occasional weekend and evening work.


Responsibilities

* Identify, increase, and promote the recruitment, retention, and progression of people from under-represented or minority communities at Gwent Police.
* Engage with the community, support candidates throughout the recruitment journey, and collaborate closely with the recruitment team.
* Deliver presentations and awareness sessions; coach and mentor individuals to reach their full potential (desirable: knowledge of the recruitment process).
* Travel throughout the force area to various stations and community locations; occasional weekend and evening work as required.
