Courier Operations Manager

Reporting to the senior leadership team, the Courier Operations Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective day-to-day management of operations. This is a hands-on position requiring leadership and coordination of a team to guarantee all shipments are processed accurately and prepared for export according to company procedures and strict deadlines.

The working hours are Monday - Friday 12pm - 9pm

* The key responsibilities include overseeing the efficient functioning of the operations department, including workforce planning, supplier coordination, and achievement of operational targets.
* All shipments must be processed in accordance with internal procedures and industry standards.
* The successful candidate will lead, motivate, and support the operations team, ensuring staff have the necessary skills and training to perform their duties effectively.
* Collaboration with senior leadership is required to implement and drive strategic operational improvements.
* Proactive responses to operational challenges are essential, identifying issues and delivering timely solutions.
* Maintaining compliance with customs and relevant regulatory authorities is vital.
* Departmental performance must be monitored, evaluated, and reported on regularly.
* Communication with domestic and international partners is a key aspect of this role.

The ideal candidate should possess:

* A strong knowledge of the courier/logistics industry, including import and export processes.
* Proven experience in team leadership and management.
* Familiarity with customs regulations and the ability to prepare import/export declarations.
* Certification in handling Dangerous Goods (IATA) is highly desirable.
* A valid forklift license is essential.
* The ability to perform under pressure in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment.
* Excellent administrative and communication skills.
* Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
* Highly organized with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and delegate effectively.
* Proficiency in standard office software and communication tools.
