Job Title
Job Title: Salaried General Practitioner (GP)
Sessions: 6 sessions per week
Reports to: GP Partners / Practice Manager
Job Summary
The post‑holder will work as an autonomous practitioner providing high‑quality, patient‑centred care within a well‑established GP practice.
You will manage a varied clinical caseload and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe and effective services within a modern total triage model using Anima, supporting safe demand management and structured workflows.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide routine and urgent primary care consultations (face‑to‑face, telephone, and online) via Anima triage.
* Assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.
* Prescribe safely and effectively in line with local and national guidance.
* Undertake home visits where clinically appropriate.
* Manage pathology results, incoming correspondence, and follow‑up care.
* Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records.
Patient Care & Safety
* Deliver safe, effective, and evidence‑based care in line with best practice and BMA safe working guidance.
* Participate in safeguarding for children and vulnerable adults.
* Contribute to clinical governance, audits, and quality improvement.
* Work within practice policies, CQC standards, and regulatory frameworks.
Team Working
* Work collaboratively with GPs, nursing staff, pharmacists, and wider PCN teams.
* Participate in clinical meetings and contribute to service development.
* Support and mentor trainees or junior staff where appropriate.
* Promote a positive and respectful team culture.
Administrative Responsibilities
* Process prescriptions, referrals, and clinical documentation efficiently.
* Manage workflow and patient contacts through the Anima triage system.
* Maintain awareness of practice systems and operational processes.
Professional Development
* Maintain GMC registration, appraisal, and revalidation.
* Engage in CPD and mandatory training.
* Contribute to personal and practice development initiatives.
Person Specification – Essential
* Fully qualified GP with current registration on the GMC GP Register.
* Inclusion on the NHS Performers List.
* Strong clinical decision‑making skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
* Experience of working within a total triage model (e.g. Anima).
* Interest in developing a specialist clinical area.
* Interest in leadership or progression to Partnership.

* Contract aligned with BMA model terms and conditions.
* Workload capped in line with safe working guidance (maximum 25 patient contacts per day).

Qualifications
* Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
* Inclusion on the GMC GP Register.
* Inclusion on the NHS Performers List.
* Evidence of completion of GP Specialty Training (CCT or equivalent).
* Right to work in the UK or eligibility for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship (Tier 2).
* Experience working in UK General Practice.
* Experience of working within a total triage model (e.g. Anima).
* Interest in developing a specialist clinical area (e.g. diabetes, mental health, women’s health).
* Experience in clinical leadership or service development.
* Teaching, mentoring, or supervision experience (e.g. GP trainees or medical students).
* Experience working within a multidisciplinary team (including PCN roles such as pharmacists, paramedics, or ANPs).
* Understanding of QOF, enhanced services, and primary care targets.
* Experience using clinical system System 1.
* Interest in progressing to Partnership.
* Experience in quality improvement, audit, or clinical governance activities.
