Job Description
Our client, an award-winning law firm with a strong reputation in landlord and tenant law, is seeking a Solicitor with proven expertise in housing law to join their welcoming team in Barry. This is a key appointment supporting the firm's continued growth and client service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Take ownership of landlord and tenant residential cases independently
2. Advise clients on legal notices, HMO regulations, injunctions (including access and anti-social behaviour), rent repayment orders, disrepair, harassment, unlawful eviction, trespass, and enforcement actions
3. Manage cases from start to finish, including attending court and representing clients at hearings
4. Liaise with High Court Sheriffs and bailiffs when enforcement is necessary
5. Provide clarity and guidance to both private and social tenants
6. Draft legal documents and correspondence effectively and professionally
7. Work within firm policies, maintaining high standards of reliability and professionalism
8. Collaborate with a friendly, supportive team environment
Essential Experience
9. Strong background in landlord and tenant law and housing rights
10. Ability to manage cases confidently with minimal supervision
11. Understanding of company let agreements and local authority involvement
12. Approachable, solution-oriented, and client-focused
13. Eloquent and professional communicator, especially over the phone and in court
14. Highly organised and able to manage own workload effectively
