Job Description:
Join us, be part of more.
We’re more than an energy company. We’re a family of brands revolutionising how we power the planet. We're energisers, a team of 21,000 colleagues energising a greener, fairer future by creating an energy system that doesn’t rely on fossil fuels. We are committed to positive change in our communities. Here, you can find more purpose, passion, and potential. That’s why working here is #MoreThanACareer. We do energy differently — we make it, store it, move it, sell it, and mend it.
About your team:
At British Gas, our mission is to sell it and mend it.
We’ve powered UK homes and businesses for over 200 years. But our work goes beyond energy supply. We’re making the UK greener and more energy-efficient, aiming for Net Zero by using tech like thermostats, heat pumps, solar panels, and EV chargers, helping customers reduce their carbon footprint.
About your role:
We seek a Continuous Business Improvement Analyst to join our team. You will work closely with the Optimisation planning, Short-Term Planning, Demand Management, and Customer Delivery teams. Your role involves creating performance narratives for the Customer Delivery function, identifying areas of poor performance, and conducting root cause analyses to diagnose issues and suggest improvements. Your insights will support leadership in making informed decisions to enhance business performance, with both forward-looking and retrospective diagnostics.
Location: You will be required to work in our Stockport (SK1 2GT) or Leeds (LS11 5BD) offices approximately 1-2 days per week.
Your responsibilities:
* Assess performance against target metrics to support leadership insights and decisions.
* Measure and embed core metrics and principles.
* Collaborate with the Optimisation planning team to deploy insight tools to Customer Delivery teams and support their adoption.
* Establish effective performance routines across Customer Delivery and interface with Field performance and operation teams.
* Conduct in-depth diagnostics into performance issues to identify root causes and solutions, then work with colleagues to implement improvements.
What we’re looking for:
* Experience presenting data effectively at all business levels, including Exec.
* Strong root causation and complex problem-solving skills.
* Analytical thinking and positive disruption mindset.
* Ability to see the bigger picture beyond details.
* Proficiency in Microsoft applications: Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Databricks.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
* Experience building and automating reports to support performance improvements.
* Attention to detail with a strategic perspective.
* Proactive in identifying and resolving issues.
* Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
* Capability to enhance Customer Delivery performance through targeted interventions.
