A global manufacturing business located in Salfords (Redhill), specialising in the design, manufacture and supply of a range of static tension and/or compression testing machines, including specialist grips, fixtures and applications are seeking a Mechanical Fitter.
As a Mechanical Fitter you will:
1. Assemble and build material testing machines, mechanical and pneumaticgripsand other precise instruments, mechanically fitting parts including wiring looms and electronic looms and electronic displays.
2. Be competent in the use of Pillar Drill, Manual Lathe and other tool room equipment.
3. Complete paperwork i.e. works orders etc.
4. Assist in annual stock count.
5. Ensure targets are met.
6. Ensure parts are collated, fitted and adapted where necessary to equipment ready for
testing.
7. Report to Supervisor any changes to drawings to ensure full records are kept.
8. Monitor and check quality assurance of products being checked.
We are looking for a Mechanical Fitter who has the following skills and experience:
9. Apprentice trained time served, NVQ / HNC / HND / in Mechanical Engineering or other
relevant discipline.
10. Close tolerance assembly skills in a machine build environment.
11. Competentwith machine shop precision measuring equipment i.e. micrometres and
verniers.
12. Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, general assembly drawings and geometric tolerances.
13. Able to operate a variety of hand and machine tools.
Working hours are Monday - Thursday 8.00 - 16.30, Friday - 8.00 16:00.
In return you will receive a salary of £28,000 - £32,000 pa depending on experience.
