Working closely and collaboratively with teams across the business, the Packaging Technologist is responsible for the implementation and management of live packaging concepts into the operations through their life cycle.
Selecting suitable packaging materials for projects with guidance from the Packaging Development Manager and Procurement team
Support with reviewing artwork from a printability and production feasibility perspective based on supplier capabilities
Coordinating packing and transit trials to test packaging performance and efficiency
Attending or advising on checks for factory and 1st production trials to validate the packing and packaging of newly developed solutions
Building an optimized case and pallet configuration which considers several factors including height limitations on storage at co-packers, intended delivery method (e.g. containers) and safety regulations
Ongoing management of launched packaging
Leading on packaging investigations by implementing corrective and preventative actions with suppliers
The Packaging Technologist also plays a key role in the delivery of tasks which form part of the Marketing & Creative team and overall business objectives.

Excellent knowledge of and experience in food safe packaging and relevant legislation
Experienced understanding of multiple packaging and printing production methods
Previous experience in using Cape Pack or any other palletization software would be an asset, as well as the project management tool Trello
