Job Summary
We’re looking for a Factory Systems Support Engineer to provide hands‑on IT support for factory systems, ensuring seamless daily operations and collaboration with cross‑functional teams. The position plays a key role in maintaining and improving IT services for a factory transitioning to a 7‑day operational model.
Contract Duration: 6 months (possible extension). Work Schedule: Saturday to Monday, 06:00 – 18:00. Location: Rochdale, Greater Manchester.
Responsibilities
* Serve as the primary technical contact for all IT‑related factory issues.
* Monitor, maintain, and update factory IT systems to ensure smooth functioning.
* Troubleshoot issues between database systems and applications.
* Support and manage user‑facing MES and WMS systems.
* Perform daily system and network operation checks and resolve incidents.
* Maintain clear and up‑to‑date documentation for troubleshooting processes.
* Participate in ongoing IT projects and system improvement initiatives.
Requirements
* Experience providing IT support in a factory or similar industrial environment.
* Strong knowledge of troubleshooting network and database systems (SQL).
* Familiarity with Microsoft systems and applications.
* Willingness to work on weekends (Saturday to Monday).
Nice to Have
* Basic SQL knowledge for database queries.
* Experience with MES/WMS systems (e.g., WAMAS, Lighthouse).
* Ability to conduct local IT training sessions for factory staff.
Team Structure: Small, collaborative team of 3 supporting growing operational demands.
