About the Role
Avantor is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join the UK Service team, covering a key territory in and around London.
This is a field-based role focused on providing technical support across laboratory equipment, ensuring installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair activities are delivered to a high standard while maintaining strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Install, service, and repair laboratory equipment across client sites
Perform calibration, validation, and preventative maintenance
Diagnose faults and resolve technical issues independently
Deliver a high-quality customer experience on-site
Provide technical guidance and support to customers
Plan and manage service visits efficiently within the assigned territory
Identify opportunities to support service and product offerings
Candidate Profile
Degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 3+ years' experience in field service or technical support
Strong electronic and electrical troubleshooting skills
Experience working across multiple types of equipment or products
Ability to work independently in a field-based role
Strong customer-facing and communication skills
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to learn new technologies
Full, clean UK driving licence
Willingness to travel across the assigned territory
Location Requirement
Candidates should ideally be based in or near the following areas:
Surrey
Buckinghamshire
Hertfordshire
Greater London
Proximity to these locations is important to ensure efficient travel and effective coverage of the customer base.
Additional Information
Travel required across the South UK / London area
Ongoing technical training, including quarterly sessions
