Job Overview
Dorset County Hospital Hand Therapy Service invites applications for a year‑long secondment as a Hand Therapist. The post is based at Dorset County Hospital and covers adult and paediatric orthopaedic elective and trauma clinics as well as rheumatology patients.
Responsibilities
* Manage a full clinical caseload independently and supervise junior staff within the specialist team.
* Participate, alongside the Team Lead, in a rolling programme of education, clinical evaluation, audit and research across the specialty.
* Work as an integral part of the hand therapy team and the wider multi‑professional hand team.
* Be prepared to work at any site within the trust; the role may become rotational if required.
* Work at weekends on a roster basis and adapt to future patterns of working as the service evolves.
Qualifications & Experience
* Prior experience in a hand therapy department and demonstrated ability to make thermoplastic splints is desirable.
* Physiotherapists and occupational therapists are welcome; Hand Therapists are preferred.
