Located just 10 minutes from the coast, the practice benefits from Sunderland’s exciting regeneration, offering excellent restaurants, water sports, and beautiful beaches — perfect for dog walks and work-life balance. The Practice This is a patient-focused, independent small animal practice that genuinely prioritises team wellbeing. The practice fosters a calm, supportive environment with an open-door policy, ensuring all team members feel valued both professionally and personally. The practice is exceptionally well equipped, including: • Digital X-ray • Ultrasound • Endoscopy • Electrocautery • Comprehensive in-house laboratory • Imagyst for same-day cytology results The veterinary surgeon will be supported by an excellent team of highly skilled, qualified nurses, and the practice is proud to be a Registered Veterinary Nurse training practice. The Role • 100% small animal, first-opinion work • Full-time preferred, but part-time applications are welcome • 4-day working week with one full day off per week • No on-call or out-of-hours work • 1 in 4 Saturday mornings • Strong emphasis on work-life balance and team culture Regular social get-togethers are encouraged, reflecting the practice’s commitment to team wellbeing. Candidate Requirements • RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon • At least 1 year of veterinary experience preferred • UK experience preferred • Compassionate, patient-focused, and able to work independently • Excellent communication and teamwork skills Visa sponsorship can be offered if required, although candidates with UK experience are preferred.
