A Vacancy at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Locum Consultant Haematologist with a myeloma interest, to join our team at UHDB on a 6 month fixed term contract.
Full-time post based at the Royal Derby Hospital; part-time requests will be considered and supported, taking into account service needs. Due to the Trust being a merged organisation there is a requirement to work across other sites.
Responsibilities
* Join the myeloma service at UHDB and actively contribute to service development through innovation, restructuring and expansion of clinical trials and access to novel therapies.
* In-patient care on an 18-bed dedicated haematology ward providing BSH level 2b care, including induction treatment and salvage therapies for AML and high-grade lymphomas.
* Contribute to the operation of the Acute Unit for unwell patients (CTAU) with medical supervision and through collaboration with Oncology; teaching and supervision of registrars and specialty doctors.
* Engage in service development across hospital sites as UHDB evolves, with opportunities to shape the future of haematology care.
* Participate in teaching and training activities for medical students and junior doctors as part of the department’s established program.

* Locum Consultant Haematologist with a myeloma interest.

* Commitment to professional development and service improvement, including clinical trials access and novel therapies.
