Project Details
1. New build and refurbishment schemes across the Midlands, Kettering, North Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, and wider Leicestershire/Nottinghamshire areas.
2. Typical project value: up to £30m.
3. Sectors: schools, universities, HRB apartments, residential (private & social housing), mixed-use, industrial, and commercial developments.
Responsibilities and Duties
4. Carry out site inspections and monitor to ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, and regulations.
5. Maintain detailed and accurate records of inspections and progress.
6. Prepare and issue detailed reports on quality and compliance issues.
7. Identify, report, and follow up on defects and non-compliance, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
8. Attend site meetings and liaise effectively with contractors, design teams, and client representatives.
9. Provide professional advice to safeguard quality standards, cost efficiency, and timely delivery.
10. Uphold a firm and professional stance on issues, not being a pushover, while maintaining constructive working relationships.
Desired Skills and Experience
11. Proven Clerk of Works experience across multiple project types.
12. Strong knowledge of different construction methods and building types.
13. Experience with NEC forms of contract.
14. Excellent report writing and communication skills.
15. Ability to remain impartial while safeguarding the client’s interests.
16. Driving license is essential.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
Membership of ICWCI desirable (MICWCI, LICWCI, Assoc. ICWCI).
