About the role
As a Driver Trainee Installer, you will be supported through our 12-month trainee programme to become a fully qualified John Lewis Customer Delivery Installer with a C1 driving licence. Once you're fully trained, you'll have the opportunity to deliver and install products such as furniture, large electrical appliances, sound systems, and TV sets into customers' homes as part of a 2-person delivery crew.
Due to its nature, you need to be 18 years or older to work in this role.
Key Responsibilities
* Be an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with great customer service as your top priority.
* Help load the delivery vehicle with the day's deliveries, working alongside the warehouse team.
* Show respect and courtesy for the customer's home and handle unexpected situations to find the best solution.
* Install products efficiently and demonstrate their operation to customers.
* Stay updated with new products and technologies to perform your role effectively.
* Maintain a safe working environment.
Essential Skills/Experience
* UK B-Category manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
* Excellent verbal communication skills over the phone and face-to-face.
* Ability to cope with physical demands, including delivering large items like sofas, white goods, and furniture.
* A passion for technology and installation.
Desirable Skills/Experience
* Previous experience in installation and delivery driving.
This is a full-time role, working 41 hours over 4 days between 06:00 and 17:00, including some weekends.
