Senior Environmental Manager – Ground Engineering Works (Sizewell, Suffolk)
Our client are supporting the delivery of one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure projects – Sizewell C – and seeking a Senior Environmental Manager to join the ground engineering works team.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and project-specific requirements
* Develop and implement environmental risk assessments and mitigation strategies
* Prepare and maintain key documentation (CEMPs, water/nuisance/pollution plans)
* Apply for environmental permits and liaise with regulators as required
* Monitor on-site performance and advise on air, noise, water, waste, and ecology measures
* Conduct inspections, audits, and support incident investigations
* Provide training and promote environmental awareness across teams and subcontractors
* Track and interpret emerging environmental regulations, providing guidance to project teams
* Analyse environmental data and contribute to internal reports and meetings
* Ensure accurate reporting and client communication on environmental performance
Requirements
* Degree in an environmental discipline (preferred)
* IEMA Associate membership
* Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within construction
* Strong IT, communication, and project management skills
* Proactive, solution-focused mindset and ability to work independently
