The Greater London Authority (GLA) are looking to recruit a Policy and Projects Officer to join the Communities and Skills Directorate. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in social policy and programme delivery, and have experience managing a team and high-profile programmes with robust stakeholder engagement skills. Day-to-Day of the Role: Lead a team delivering activities aimed at addressing structural inequalities across London. Engage with a wide range of stakeholders including local and national government, voluntary and community sector organisations, and commercial organisations to inform and deliver GLA policies and programmes. Support the organisation in fulfilling statutory equality duties and delivering strategic programmes with partners to tackle inequalities. Manage a sub-team of approximately 5 staff members, overseeing the budget and programme delivery. Develop statutory and non-statutory strategies and policies related to structural inequalities, including research, analysis, option appraisals, and consultation. Provide expert advice and guidance on Mayoral policies and strategies, responding to external developments and policy changes. Maintain strong working relationships with key partners and stakeholders to inform policy and programme development and delivery. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven track record of successfully managing and leading a team. Extensive professional experience and knowledge of social policy, particularly within a London context. Experience in roles or projects focused on equalities is highly advantageous. Ability to manage multiple projects successfully, delivering results on target and within budget. Strong understanding of policy development processes within a complex political environment. Excellent analytical skills, strategic thinking, and practical implementation of policies. Strong knowledge of stakeholders and relationships key to the development and delivery of social policy in London.
