ABOUT US RedSky Bikes was started by partners Gemma and James back in 2022 and since then the business has gone from strength to strength, and building a loyal customer base.Our head mechanic who has been with us since the start is sadly having to relocate.This leaves an opportunity for an experienced mechanic to come in and run an established and busy Workshop. RedSky Bikes Ltd is a destination retail bike and repair shop in Thirsk, North Yorkshire.Offering mid to high end bikes for all disciplines; mountain, road, e-bikes, gravel and kids bikes.Our state-of-the-art Park Tool workshop welcomes all types of bikes for servicing and repairs.RedSky Bikes has recently become a Shimano Service Centre too.Our main bike brands are Cube, Mondraker, Merdia, MiRiDER and Pivot, accompanied by other high-quality brands to offer a full parts & accessories range. Our mission is to be trusted and known as the go to bike workshop in our local community, consistently backed up with high quality workmanship and genuine good old fashioned customer service.We provide best in class bikes that inspire people to get out and ride as we know first hand the many benefits that cycling provides. The shop is located right next to a new Sports Village which boasts an outdoor 1km cycle track and running track, several sports pitches and a skate park.They are currently developing the area around the shop to incorporate some more retail and leisure business premises.We have an incredible space right outside the shop to test ride bikes, host our events and provide plenty of free parking for customers. ABOUT YOU You will already be trained to Cytech Level 2 (or equivalent) as a minimum and experience of working within a retail bike workshop is essential.A passion for all things bike related is a must and the ideal qualities that we are looking for are: Can talk to anybody from any walk of life Be approachable Professional in their approach to work A keen eye for detail Ability to listen Ability to communicate verbally and written Confident in their knowledge and keeps abreast with the changes in the cycling industry Happy to share best practises with the rest of the team and likewise give feedback if somethings not working properly Wants to be part of a team and get involved with the business Able to use their own initiative Open to learning and to continuous improvement Experienced with electric bikes Caring attitude and wants to help people get out on their bikes Treats every bike they work on as if it was their own pride & joy Active cyclist who has a passion for riding anything with 2 wheels Optional bonus but not essential good at taking and bringing the banter!
