Legal Entity Controller - UK Statutory Reporting – Associate role at JPMorganChase. Join our dynamic Legal Entity Control (LEC) team and contribute to shaping the financial landscape of a key UK regulated entity within Global Finance and Business Management.
Responsibilities
* Produce key disclosures contained within the UK statutory financial statements under local GAAP, working closely with the Lines of Business and external audit.
* Prepare working files and audit papers with high accuracy and liaise with external auditors on an annual basis.
* Maintain and reconcile our local ledger platform and operating model.
* Support technical UK GAAP/IFRS accounting analysis including accounting memos and new product assessments.
* Identify and drive enhancements to current processes and controls, including supporting various projects and initiatives impacting the legal entity’s local accounts.
* Build and maintain relationships across Finance to coordinate and communicate audit requests and information required for the accounts.
* Support cross-entity disclosures and audit tasks for the wider LEC team during the year where required.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills
* Qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, etc.) with relevant post-qualified experience.
* Solid understanding of investment and retail bank financial accounting and products.
* Ability to work under considerable time pressure while maintaining accuracy and quality.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills with a track record of building good working relationships.
* Strong analytical ability to discuss legal entity and business results with senior management and stakeholders across the Firm.
* Desire to learn and develop understanding of challenging accounting concepts and new products.
* Attention to detail and a control-focused mindset at all times.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills
* Previous experience of accounts preparation under IFRS preferred.
* Experience with the Firm’s ledger and consolidation platforms (SAP, CDGL, and BPC).
* Advanced Excel skills and ideally understanding of process enhancement tools such as Tableau.
