Small Group and 1:1 Music Tutor – Freelance | £27/hr | KT9 (Chessington)
Are you passionate about inspiring young musicians? Do you have the energy and creativity to lead engaging, fun music sessions for children and young adults ages 9-19? Do you have SEN experience? Sing Education is looking for a dynamic and experienced freelance music tutor to lead weekly tuition lessons in piano, guitar and singing in the Chessington area.
About the Role:
Hours: 1 day per week, 30 min lessons throughout the day
Pay: £22-27 per hour (freelance) depending on experience
Location: Chessington KT9 area
Start date: February 2026
What You’ll Do:
Instruments: Guitar, Keyboard/Piano, Ukulele, Singing
Lesson format: 30-minute lessons during the school day
Delivery: 1:1 and small group lessons (up to 5 pupils)
Requirements
Who We’re Looking For:
* Music degree (or music-related degree)
* A confident and inspiring music leader with experience working with primary-aged children
* SEN experience
* Strong musical skills in singing, keyboard and guitar
* Reliable, professional, and committed to delivering high-quality music education
* Full vetting and DBS check to be carried out

Requirements
Qualifications University graduate with a degree in music or a related field Skills and Knowledge Strong vocal skills with the confidence to lead lessons and assemblies Excellent command of spoken and written English Capability to conduct whole-class music lessons Basic keyboard proficiency for classroom use Understanding of the National Curriculum for music Proficient with ICT and able to use online systems such as G Suite Experience Experience in classroom teaching or one-on-one instruction Previous work with children or young people in a teaching or leadership role Personal Attributes Passionate about inspiring a love for music in pupils Strong classroom management and disciplinary skills Ability to collaborate effectively with both Sing Education and school teams Maintains appropriate confidentiality Possesses a sense of humour and can generate enthusiasm for music Highly organised with excellent communication skills Commitment to personal and professional development
