A client within the Public Sector based in the east Midlands is currently recruiting for a Repairs and Maintenance Officer to join their Housing Services team as soon as possible. The client is offering full-time, temporary positions for with the ideal candidates having experience of working within a local authority housing or property maintenance environment.The RoleKey purpose of the role is to lead and coordinate responsive repairs and maintenance work across the Council’s housing stock, with a strong focus on diagnosing and resolving damp, mould, and disrepair issues. You will oversee operatives and contractors to ensure high standards of service delivery and customer satisfaction.Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
* Conducting property inspections to identify damp, mould, and disrepair
* Producing and overseeing remediation plans
* Monitoring quality of repairs and ensuring compliance with housing standards
* Coordinating internal teams and external contractors
* Providing technical advice and ensuring works are completed in line with health and safety and regulatory requirements
* Managing tenant communication and maintaining accurate records
The CandidateTo be considered for this role you will require:
* Proven experience diagnosing and remediating damp and mould issues
* Experience handling disrepair cases
* A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for site visits
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
* Strong knowledge of social housing repairs and maintenance
* Good understanding of relevant housing legislation and tenant rights
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Ability to manage and prioritise workloads across a range of properties
