About the Role & Team

We’re recruiting for two Information Governance Adviser roles in our friendly and supportive Information Management Service at Gloucestershire County Council — one permanent and one fixed-term until 31st March 2027.

You’ll be part of a team that helps colleagues across the council to use information responsibly, safely and effectively. Whether it’s supporting a new project, helping services understand their data responsibilities, or promoting good practice, your work will have a real impact on how we serve the people of Gloucestershire.

This is a career-graded role (Grade 8–9), offering development and progression opportunities as you grow in confidence and capability. You’ll be support ed by experienced colleagues and encouraged to bring your ideas and energy to the team.

You should indicate clearly in their personal statement whether you wish to be considered for one or both roles, and if both, which is your preferred option.

About You

We’re looking for someone who has experience working in information management — whether that’s in data protection, records management, compliance, or a related field. But that’s not the only thing we’re looking for.

We’re also interested in people who are:

* Great communicators – able to explain things clearly and build trust with colleagues at all levels.
* Curious and proactive – someone who enjoys learning and wants to help others improve how they manage information.
* Organised and adaptable – able to manage a varied workload and respond to changing priorities.
* Team players – collaborative, supportive and willing to share knowledge.

If you’re someone who enjoys solving problems, building relationships, and making a difference, we’d love to hear from you.

About Us

We offer:

* Flexible and hybrid working arrangements
* 25.5 days annual leave rising to 30.5 days after 5 years’ service
* An option to purchase up to 10 additional days of leave per year
* Career development and qualification opportunities
* A supportive and inclusive working environment
* Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme
* Employee Assistance Programme and Occupational Health support
* Staff discount schemes, Cycle to Work and Green Car schemes
* Active employee networks including Prism (LGBT+) and the Young Employees Network

We want to be an employer of choice, attracting and retaining excellent people to work for us, so that we can best serve all of Gloucestershire’s diverse communities.
