Assistant Quantity Surveyor

We are working with one of the UK’s largest and most reputable social housing refurbishment contractors, who are looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of planned maintenance works across North London.

The Role:
As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you’ll work closely with the commercial team and help manage costs on a range of refurbishment projects, including kitchen and bathroom replacements, roofing, and external works for local authority and housing association clients.
Key Duties:
Assist with cost control and budget management across multiple sites
Support the preparation of valuations, variations, and final accounts
Procure subcontractors and suppliers
Monitor subcontractor performance and manage payments
Liaise with site teams and clients to ensure smooth project delivery
Keep accurate commercial records and support monthly reporting
Requirements:
1–3 years’ experience in a similar QS or Assistant QS role
Ideally experience within social housing, refurbishment, or general contracting
Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or similar
Strong communication and organisational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software
