Senior Infrastructure Engineer Location: Belfast (Hybrid) About the Role A professional services organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join a busy IT Infrastructure team. This is a hands-on technical role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, taking ownership of both on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure across multiple sites and data centres. You'll work closely with internal technical teams, business stakeholders, and third-party vendors to ensure platforms are secure, stable, and continuously improving. Key Responsibilities Own and maintain server infrastructure across on-premises data centres and Azure cloud environments. Design and manage scalable Azure solutions including IaaS workloads and hybrid connectivity. Administer Windows Server services including Active Directory, Entra ID, DNS, DHCP, and Certificate Services. Lead vulnerability management, ensuring systems are patched and remediated in line with policy. Manage the MDM/endpoint management platform, ensuring consistent policy enforcement across all devices. Maintain BCDR capabilities, ensuring critical systems have adequate backup and DR protection. Proactively monitor infrastructure using enterprise tooling and drive continuous improvement. Manage the virtualisation environment to meet capacity, performance, and availability targets. Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota for critical incidents and emergency escalations. Experience Extensive hands-on experience in an Infrastructure or Systems Engineering role within an enterprise environment. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure, hybrid cloud architecture, and cloud security best practices. Deep expertise in Windows Server 2016-2022 administration, hardening, and troubleshooting. Solid experience with Active Directory, Entra ID, DNS, DHCP, and Certificate Services. Proven experience with vulnerability management tooling and driving remediation programmes. Experience managing MDM/endpoint management platforms. Strong understanding of BCDR principles and enterprise backup and replication solutions. Working knowledge of CIS benchmarks and ISO 27001. Experience working within ITIL-aligned incident, problem, and change management processes. Strong communication skills and ability to work independently under pressure.
