GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join a school in Sheffield (S11). This role is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils who may be facing social, emotional, or behavioural difficulties, helping them to re-engage positively with their learning. Role Overview: As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils, teachers, and support staff to encourage positive behaviour and provide tailored interventions. You will act as a role model, building trust and supporting pupils to develop resilience, self-esteem, and coping strategies. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will: Support pupils with behavioural, social, and emotional needs on a 1:1 or small group basis. Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and engagement. Provide guidance and act as a positive role model for students. Assist teachers in creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment. Monitor pupil progress and report concerns to relevant staff. Uphold high standards of safeguarding and pupil welfare. Requirements for Behaviour Mentor: Previous experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs is highly desirable. Strong communication, de-escalation, and relationship-building skills. Patience, resilience, and a compassionate approach. Ability to work collaboratively with school staff and external agencies. An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply). A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
