Overview
We are looking for a Network Logistics Supervisor to be responsible for managing significant, large scale construction activity across multiple sites. As our new Network Logistics Supervisor, you will co-ordinate and ensure the timely and efficient delivery of construction assets and materials onsite, including import/export of reinstatement materials, delivery of fittings, and the use of mechanical excavation equipment/vehicles. You will also co-ordinate and supervise all activities on site and act as deputy for the Network Logistics Manager during periods of absence. You will support the Network Logistics Manager in ensuring that all logistics plant, equipment, and supplies required to support large scale mains renewal activity are available, maintained, kept safe and operationally ready as and when required by the Network Construction Team.
Responsibilities
* Work with the Network Logistics Technicians and multiple suppliers to ensure stock levels are maintained at the required levels, and establish and maintain positive relationships with local quarries, plant, and suppliers.
* Be responsible for the Network Logistics Technician to ensure maintenance, services, exchange of plant & equipment are properly carried out and recorded (PUWER checks).
* Ensure that all supplier payments are raised and paid correctly in a timely manner and manage a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external.
* Collaborate with the construction teams and different departments to ensure deadlines are met with minimal disruption to the transportation network; be accountable for site safety, operatives, customers, the public, environment, local compounds and budget control on Kit & Equipment costs and plant.
* Demonstrate HGV experience, supervise others, and work to PUWER standards to ensure kit and equipment are checked and compliant, with a strong practical understanding of construction kit, equipment & plant and managing supplier relationships.
* Plan and organise effectively, coordinating multiple activities, managing time under pressure, and making clear decisions as required.
* Maintain knowledge and experience of quarry and tipping activities and build positive, constructive relationships with suppliers, contractors, and other external organisations. Travel is required, so hold a full UK driving license.
Qualifications and attributes
* Significant practical experience of working with construction kit, equipment & plant.
* Experience supervising others and working with PUWER standards.
* Ability to maintain positive, constructive relationships with suppliers, contractors and other external organisations.
* Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple activities and perform under pressure.
* Full UK driving license.
