They are looking for an experienced Housing Officer to cover a 6-month maternity contract, with a strong focus on face-to-face housing management across South London and Kent.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being out on patch, building relationships with tenants, carrying out tenancy visits, welfare checks, sign-ups, and ensuring homes are safe, compliant and well managed.
A full UK driving licence is essential, as the role involves regular travel between schemes.
The Role As Housing Officer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day housing management of a patch of supported housing schemes, working closely with tenants, care and support providers, and internal teams.
You will be a visible presence on site, ensuring tenants feel supported, listened to and safe in their homes.
Key duties include: Carrying out regular tenancy and property visits (minimum quarterly) Completing tenant sign-ups, tenancy sustainment work and welfare checks Managing voids, inspections and re-lets to maximise occupancy Ensuring buildings meet health & safety and building safety compliance Working with maintenance teams to report and follow up repairs Responding to tenancy management issues, including anti-social behaviour Liaising with care and support providers to maintain positive, welcoming environments Supporting rent and service charge collection alongside the Income Team Accurately recording tenant contact and actions on housing management systems About You Were looking for someone who: Has experience working as a Housing Officer or similar housing management role Is confident carrying out face-to-face tenant engagement and lone working Has experience managing tenancies, sign-ups, voids and property inspections Is organised, proactive and able to manage their own patch Has strong communication xkybehq skills and can work collaboratively with multiple agencies Holds a full UK driving licence and can travel across South London and Kent Experience within supported housing or working with vulnerable adults is highly desirable.
