Are you thinking about relocating to the United Kingdom? Do you have experience in Deterministic Safety Analysis for Nuclear Power Plants? This might be the right opportunity for you!
Location: Bristol, UK (Hybrid, Permanent Employment)
Sector: Advanced Nuclear / Small Modular Reactors (SMR)
Our client is the UK arm of a global clean energy engineering group, developing next-generation small modular reactor (SMR) technology. From its Bristol office, the team delivers structural, mechanical, and safety-critical engineering for advanced nuclear power, supported by centres in the US, Spain, and India.
We are seeking Nuclear Safety Analysts at Associate, Analyst II, and Senior levels to support deterministic safety analysis for the SMR programme. This is an opportunity to contribute to a major clean energy project during key design and licensing stages within a highly technical, analysis-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform deterministic safety analysis (DSA) for SMR-s, evaluating:
* Reactor core and coolant behaviour
* Engineered safety features
* Containment response
* Radiological releases across AOOs and DBAs
* Contribute to nuclear system code development and validation.
* Responsibilities scale with seniority:
* Associate Analysts support calculations and modelling.
* Analyst II Engineers lead defined analyses and technical tasks.
* Senior Analysts manage complex work packages, interpret regulatory expectations, and prepare licensing documentation.
Required Experience
* Relevant background in nuclear thermal-hydraulic analysis.
* Proficiency with system codes such as RELAP, COBRA, or GOTHIC.
* Familiarity with fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and/or DSA using nuclear system thermal-hydraulic codes.
Why Join?
* Be part of a global clean-energy initiative shaping the future of nuclear power.
* Work in a collaborative, international environment with technical centres in the US, Spain, and India.
* Contribute to a major SMR programme at a pivotal stage of design and licensing.
