Transport Planner
Full-time, permanent | Up to £35,000 DOE
This role is Monday to Friday, with the potential for hybrid working.
nr.Brabourne, Ashford - Driving Essential due to rural location
We are seeking an organised and proactive Transport Planner to join a well established, manufacturing company on the outskirts of Ashford. The successful candidate will plan and coordinate deliveries, manage driver hours and ensure full compliance with transport regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Plan daily and weekly delivery schedules to optimise vehicle utilisation and use the most efficient routes
- Allocate work to drivers and manage rotas, ensuring legal drivers' hours and rest breaks are adhered to
- Monitor compliance with driving licence and vehicle documentation requirements
- React to operational issues (delays, vehicle breakdowns, traffic) and re-route as required
- Maintain accurate records and produce regular reports on performance and compliance
- Liaise with various teams throughout the company
What we're looking for
- Previous transport planning experience with demonstrable experience planning deliveries
- Experience managing drivers' hours and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Driving is essential due to the location of the role; you must hold a full UK driving licence
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure
- Good IT skills, including experience with route-planning/TMS software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication and teamworking skills
