Job Specification Position: Payroll Manager Location: Flintshire Hours: Monday - Friday Salary: NEG DOE Job Purpose To manage and process payrolls and pensions for assigned sites, ensuring accurate and timely payment for 1300 employees while ensuring compliance with HMRC and Irish Revenue guidelines. This position plays a pivotal role in overseeing payroll operations, managing employee queries, and enforcing regulatory compliance across multiple sites. Key Responsibilities Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for UK & Ireland, ensuring accurate and timely wage calculations, including salary increases, overtime, bonuses, and deductions. Ensure payroll compliance with National Minimum/Living Wage requirements, HMRC, and Irish Revenue regulations. Regularly perform audits and checks to maintain compliance and address discrepancies. Manage UK and Ireland pension schemes, ensuring regulatory compliance and handling relevant documentation. Oversee pension-related schemes, including salary sacrifice options. Generate and analyse payroll and pension data for management reports; produce consolidated renewal data for Group UK Life and Income Protection Insurances and prepare annual budget reports. Oversee Dayforce Payroll & HR HCM system, ensuring functionality, development, and troubleshooting as needed. Act as point of contact for employee queries concerning payroll and pensions; manage new starters and leavers, ensuring their smooth transition into the system. Work closely with HR teams to implement payroll policies and facilitate employee relations issues aligned with established policies. Manage and provide training for the Payroll Administrator, fostering personal development in payroll processes. Qualifications & Skills Required Recognised professional qualification in Payroll Management (CIPP or equivalent) Significant prior experience in managing UK payroll is essential; experience with Irish payroll is advantageous. Familiarity with benefits administration and salary sacrifice schemes. Strong knowledge of the legal framework and tax systems relevant to various payrolls in both the UK and Ireland. Understanding of current Data Protection Legislation and employment law concerning payroll and pensions. Excellent IT proficiency, particularly in MS Office (with a strong emphasis on Excel).
