Job Summary
Under general supervision, performs various tasks and recommends improvement and repair projects, including planning and maintaining park facilities and grounds in a timely manner.
Maintenance Job Duties
* Maintains, inspects, repairs all park buildings for problems or hazards; performs carpentry, electrical, plumbing, welding; vehicle and equipment repair.
Janitorial
* Maintains restrooms in clean, sanitary condition; disinfects toilets, sinks, water fountains, showers; restocks supplies; able to pass D.O.C. training for inmate crew work.
Outdoor & Trail
* Maintains campgrounds, picnic areas, trails; litter removal, trail maintenance, debris hauling; heavy lifting required.
Public & Staff Safety
* Promotes visitor safety, enforces park rules, protects resources; uses two-way radios; communicates with officials; completes incident reports.
Cash Handling
* Performs cashier duties at contact station/gift shop; handles fee collection and accounting.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of maintenance, park curatorial practices, law enforcement principles; skills in public relations, maintenance practices, driving; abilities in research, math, first aid, communication, interpersonal relations.
Preferred Qualifications
* Two years of experience as a Park Ranger Specialist or three years in customer service, library, or museum work; or a Bachelor's degree in relevant fields. Equivalent training and experience may be considered.
Pre-Employment Requirements
* Valid Arizona Driver's license; possible certifications in EMT, Electrician, Wastewater Treatment; successful completion of E-Verify.
