A well-established, privately owned consultancy who has been around the UK market for years, working in a range of sectors including education,mercial, sports facilities, large scale residential and healthcare. They are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Building Services) to join their Glasgow office. Ideally, you will have experience on similar projects. You must have experience working in the UK/Ireland.
Your new role
1. Ensuring an understanding of project briefs. Design and specification of all Mechanical Building Services systems .
2. Design and specification of HVAC systems
3. Carry out (and managing others) in the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools including Excel, Revit, IES, in-house developed tools, etc.
4. Representing the organisation at meetings with clients and contractors.
5. Site surveys, inspections and monitoring of site work.
6. Report and technical note writing.
7. Maintainingplete records and archives topany standards.
8. Adherence to all quality, environmental andernance processes.
What you'll need to succeed
9. Degree qualified, or equivalent qualification, in Building Services Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or related subjects.
10. Proficient in energy reduction methods and approaches to decarbonising new and existing buildings..
11. Understanding of energy and carbon related data capture and analytics.
12. Familiarity with the principles of building physics such as passive design solutions and fabric first approaches.
13. Good level ofputer literacy in a range of digital tools, such as IES thermal modelling package, Navisworks, Hevp, One Click, NBS and Microsoft packages.
14. Experience working in a design consultancy and/or experience of working within a contractor design environment is essential.
15. Have a detailed knowledge of appropriate technical standards.
