Job Description:
Our client is a leading chemicals company recognised for delivering innovative, high-performance solutions to a wide range of industries. With a strong technical capability and a commitment to driving product innovation, they continue to expand their portfolio and strengthen their market presence.
On behalf of our client, we are seeking a talented and forward-thinking Formulation Chemist to take ownership of product innovation and enhancement within the chemical sector. This is a hands-on leadership role, guiding projects from initial concept through to commercial launch, ensuring products meet technical, market, and commercial objectives.
* Collaborate with the in-house team of experienced chemists to develop and trial advanced chemical products.
* Research new raw materials, formulations, and emerging technologies, staying ahead of industry developments.
* Conduct competitor analysis to identify opportunities for product innovation.
* Enhance performance and cost-effectiveness of existing products.
* Initiate and manage multiple product development projects, delivering within agreed timelines.
* Monitor product performance by engaging with customers, sales teams, and internal service departments.
* Work closely with production and regulatory functions to ensure compliant, timely product launches.
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent).
* Previous industrial experience in product development within the chemical industry is highly advantageous.
* Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
* Excellent problem-solving capabilities with a creative approach.
* Confident communicator with the ability to engage at all levels.
* IT literate, ideally with experience using laboratory software.
