Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Thermal Plant Operator to support the safe and efficient operation of our Energy from Waste (EfW) Plant at Allerton Waste Recovery Park. This role involves working during steady state, start-up, shutdown, and emergency situations.
In this role, you will:
* Ensure compliance with all aspects of the Environmental Permit and report any non-compliance or incidents to the Shift Team Leader.
* Operate within our company's Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental Systems, adhering to all relevant legislation.
* Participate in Company/Site HSE initiatives, including forum activities.
* Collaborate closely with the Maintenance Team to ensure the Plant is fully operational and optimized.
* Coach and mentor new personnel on EfW Plant operations and compliance requirements.
* Maintain accurate documentation, shift handovers, maintenance requests, and supporting information in a timely manner.
The salary for this role is £46,778.70.
Shift Pattern: 2 days / 3 nights / 4 off / 3 days / 2 nights / 5 off / 2 days / 2 nights / 12 off.
The Person:
* WAMITAB Level 4 Operator Competence for Managing Thermal Treatment Facilities (desirable).
* Clear and analytical thinking skills to diagnose technical issues and handle dynamic situations.
* Excellent problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to build and maintain professional expertise through networks, learning, and research, and communicate effectively with the team.
* Commitment to continuous improvement of systems, processes, and services related to the EfW Facility.
* Technical competency relevant to the EfW facility.
* Ability to work towards defined KPI deliverables.
* Proficient knowledge of combustion and boiler processes.
* Successful operation experience of an Energy from Waste facility(s).
