About the service
We’re looking for passionate Support Practitioners to join our friendly dedicated team supporting adults with complex disabilities in Glenrothes. We provide 24-hour support in people’s own homes, helping individuals with physical and learning disabilities, visual/hearing impairments, and other complex needs to live full, independent, and joyful lives.
Located on the outskirts of Glenrothes, the Finglassie Service comprises two purpose-built, semi-detached bungalowseach with four bedrooms. These modern homes feature spacious kitchens and lounge areas where individuals can enjoy meals, social activities, and time with friends. Every person we support has their own private bedroom and adapted bathroom, ensuring comfort and dignity.
Who we support
We provide 24/7 care for eight individuals, each with unique and complex needs, including but not limited to; visual and hearing impairments, learning disabilities, epilepsy, challenging behaviour, congenital rubella syndrome. Each support package is tailored to the individual, focusing on person-centred care that helps them achieve their personal goals and live fulfilling lives.
Finglassie is a lively and engaging environment where no two days are the same. Activities are a big part of life here, and favourites include:
* Swimming at the warm pool in Fife Leisure Centre (a weekly highlight!)
* Karaoke and disco afternoons with music, food, and friends
* Trips out using individual cars for shopping, meals, concerts, theatre visits, and scenic drives
* In-home fun like arts and crafts, storytelling, pamper sessions, foot spas, and games nights
* We encourage community involvement while also offering plenty of enriching indoor activities, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
What you'll be doing:
* Support individuals with daily tasks including personal care, medication, moving & assisting, and meal preparation.
* Plan and participate in fun, meaningful activities like art, music, swimming, travel, concerts, and sensory experiences.
* Work collaboratively with families, professionals, and your team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
* Keep accurate daily records and follow individual support plans.
Working patterns
This is a 24-hour housing support service, so you need to be comfortable working a variety of shifts, all scheduled via a supportive staff rota system including;
* Early and late shifts
* Sleepovers and wakened night shifts
* Weekends and public holidays
