You will have the opportunity to gain experience in applying your academic knowledge to real environmental protection and radiological safety challenges in the energy industry.
Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to see how other departments within the power station function, expanding your understanding of the broader industry.
Past students have worked on projects improving waste management processes for non‑radioactive waste, performed routine monitoring and prepared regulatory reports for sea water usage and oil accountancy, collected and managed data for UK Emissions trading scheme compliance, and supported calibration and quality control of lab equipment.
