Provide general administrative/clerical support and direct support to the Legal Service as directed by the Senior Business Support Officer. Ensure the provision of an efficient, timely and responsive administrative support service to Legal Practice. Maintain an effective balance between your study and work time. Please note that this was agreed at Workforce Board in April 2025.
Special requirements for this post
A minimum of 5 GCSE's (Grade 5-9) including Maths and English. Good standard of written and spoken English, and numeracy. IMPORTANT NOTE: Our apprenticeships are aimed at local residents of the borough of Barking and Dagenham Council with priority given to care leavers if the minimum criteria set out in the job details and person specification is met.
About you
To develop and maintain a system for the monitoring of court deadlines and procedures. To maintain and update case schedules, contact lists, spreadsheets and other legal information systems. To be a first point of call for contact for callers/visitors to the Legal Practice if and as and when required. Monitor and maintain appropriate stationery resources and liaise with other officers. Open and close matter files coming into the Legal Practice using any manual or electronic case management system in place. Create and maintain Legal Practice files and records both electronically and manually. Provide assistance to the Legal Practice relating to land and property information, deeds and documents held on Council systems.
