Shape Futures & Protect Children - Children's Social Worker (Complex & Court Work) Hull City Council | Hull Locum Contract | Up to £35.00 per hour (Umbrella)
Hull City Council is recruiting experienced and committed Children's Social Workers to join their Children's Services teams in Hull on a locum basis.
This role is suited to confident practitioners with experience of complex statutory work, including court proceedings and high-risk safeguarding cases. You'll be part of a supportive service that values strong professional judgement, collaboration, and high-quality social work practice.
The Role
As a Children's Social Worker, you will:
Manage a complex caseload, including Child Protection (CP) and Child in Need (CIN) cases
Undertake court work, including care proceedings and legal planning
Work with adoption pathways and permanency planning where required
Complete private law reports, including Section 7 and Section 37 assessments
Apply and evidence strong Signs of Safety (SOS) practice
Carry out robust safeguarding interventions to protect children from harm
Produce high-quality assessments, care plans, and court reports
Work closely with families, legal services, health professionals, and partner agencies
Support the wider team, including co-working cases and mentoring ASYE social workers and students
